CTW In Progress

My Christmas Tulle Wreath is still in progress, but I am unsure of what "finishing touches" to give the wreath extra vibrancy. Here is one, two, a few photos of my wreath!

Well, only one since the others didn't turn out, but still, it needs something, right? Any suggestions are welcome in the Connection page. A special thanks to my Grandma Darcel for helping me make this!! Another to my Mom and my sister. Thanks, guys! Have a wonderful Christmas, ya'll, and to everyone else out there...

Etsy Excitement

I gets me so excited to see my Mom/me/my sister's work go on Etsy! I get little funny shivers of happy and I feel like jumping up and down and running back online to see what our work looks like and I just keep hoping someone's gonna buy them! I know that it's only been a couple of days, but hey, can't a girl hope? Anyway, just needed something else to do as I post this, so hello, world and goodbye!! -Julie-Andi

Apple Toppers

These are our Apple Toppers!

You will need:
- Felt (green + red + brown)
- A pencil (to see what they look like)
- Needle + thread
- Cardboard
- Scissors

Instructions:

 1. I did not get exact measurements for cutting the felt. I just grabbed a piece of cardboard and traced an apple around the tip of the pencil eraser to get an idea of how big the topper needed to be.

 2. Cut out your apple from the cardboard, and clip the edges until you are satisfied with your apple shape. Do this twice, so that you have two apple pieces.

 3. Overlay the red felt over the cardboard apple and carefully cut out your red felt apple, moving the scissors along the edge of the cardboard to get the exact shape you want.

 4. Take your green and brown felt and clip a leaf and stem. You don't really need cardboard trace-outs to do this, but you can if you want. If not, just eyeball it.

 5. Prepare your needle and thread and hand stitch the stem onto one apple piece. Do this again with the leaf. The leaf and stem may overlap, and that's Ok.

 6. Hand stitch the two apple pieces together. Make sure you leave an opening at the bottom and top, so your pencil can slide in. Make the two openings bigger than you think they should be, because you definitely want to make sure your pencil can fit inside.

 7. Slide your pencil inside the apple, and viola! A pencil Apple Topper.

You can come up with your own creations - penguins, anchors, cereal pieces - if you think of it, you can probably turn it into a pencil topper! These are fairly easy to make, and I had a lot of fun doing them.
If you have any questions, please ask us in the comments section! Enjoy!

Look out for...tulle Christmas wreaths! We have a new project where we can create wreaths of variety and hope to be making some soon. Thanks to this video below:

...You will be able to create your own wreaths, if you have the desire to! And this is one of the best YouTube videos on tulle wreaths that we've seen for this particular project. So have fun with this, we'll try to get our own up soon! -Julie-Andi

The Pinhole Camera + Link

What are pinhole cameras? Pinhole cameras are one of the older cameras used and they work slightly differently than those other cameras you are already used to.
When you look through the eye of the pinhole, you will see the picture inside the camera itself, and the image will look upside-down. Sound like any camera you know? Yes, I'm sure your cameras do not take pictures upside-down, but pinhole cameras are super fun to make on your own!

Here's how:

You'll need...
- Empty Pringles chip can
- Marker
- Ruler
- X-Acto knife
- Thumbtack or pushpin
- Masking tape
- Aluminum foil
- Scissors (if you want them)
- ...a bright sunny day!

To make sure I don't copy all ideas from the original website I found them from, here is the link below that will help you with the steps to create your own. Have fun with it!

This is the link for making your own camera:
